This article talks about how iPhone is a serious threat to Blackberry. There is something new coming on iPhone that puch email. Push email is where messages are automatically sent to the phone.
“Research In Motion co-CEO Jim Balsillie last year said he didn't fear the iPhone and believed it would raise the profile of all smartphones, including the BlackBerry.(AP Photo/Jason DeCrow”
RIM has to hold on to their business in the market. it might limit the blackberry in the consumer market. Apple is moving well in to RIM place. Many business people like the blackberry, Apple have to show to business people that their iPhone push email is secure as the Blackberry. The third parties will create the software development kit for the iPhone.
RIM has a good system of security, Steve Apple chief executive officer look at the RIM’s security issues.
"Every e-mail message that's sent to a RIM device or from a RIM device goes through a [network operations centre] up in Canada,'' Jobs said at a press event at the company's headquarters. "That provides a single point of failure, but also provides a very interesting security situation.''
In our opinion Apple can do anything to come up in the fast in the market. Many people like iPhone and many don’t. iPhone is for everyone not only for business consumer. With iPhone the consumer does so much with it for example email, music, water video and many more. Apple big competition in the market is RIM. RIM is there in the market for such a long time and their brand reputation is very high. Apple has to get some customer loyalty and also brand reputation.

Target markets for the iPhone and BlackBerry are starting to overlap as well. The iPhone is a media consumer's dream, playing movies and music with ease. But it's not as finely tuned for the corporate user; large companies have resisted letting employees use iPhones on corporate networks, and information-technology.
In addition, BlackBerrys are taking on more iPhone-like trappings all the time. The BlackBerry has long been the staple of corporate users who focused mostly on e-mail and calendar features, but Research In Motion has recently been aiming for high-end consumers who might buy the device for play as much as for work.
The ChangeWave survey results regarding the satisfaction rate among the cell phone owners :-
Apple's iPhone 77% "Very Satisfied"
RIMs BlackBerry 50%
Motorola 36%
Palm 34%
SonyEricsson 29%
